Don Julien de la Fontaine is going to be continuing a series of lessons at rapier practice from Nicoletto Giganti’s 1606 Rapier manual. This is the manual that he learned from and is an excellent way to learn rapier while reinforcing fundamentals.
Tonight he will be teaching the lesson on Giganti’s fifth play, which covers an attack in tempo beginning with a constraint to the outside, as well as a detailed discussion on how to perform a cavazione (disengage).
