IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE SUNDAY PORTION OF THE SPRING CORONATION EVENT

As some of you may have noticed, the weather predictions for Sunday are unpredictable and potentially very unpleasant. Worry not!

Through the gracious wisdom of our Dread Lord and Lady of Argonia, we have been able to secure the indoor site we will be using for Saturday for the Sunday portion of the event as well. Come rain, shine, or snow, the circles, tournaments, and also scheduled activities for Sunday will be at

Tobin Park United Methodist Church, 9410 Roanoke, El Paso, Texas

and not as Memorial Park as listed in the event announcements. Again, this is the same site we are using for Saturday. The schedule for Sunday remains unchanged at this time, it is simply the location that is changed.

A Traditional Coronation Weekend schedule— modified by the desires of TRMs/TRHs

Come and join Their Majesties Hawkrill and Adrien as they descend the Stag’s Throne, and Crown Princess Mariana Crown Prince Zachariah ascension as the new Crown of the Outlands.

An Artists’ Green is planned, and any updates will be posted to the event website.

A silent auction to benefit the Kingdom Travel Fund will be running during the day, and we are seeking donations. Space has been set aside, we are confirming that the PayPal reader can be used, if not bring cash. The auction will open just before morning court, and will close one hour before evening court.

We have secured the services of Desert Rose Coffee (https://www.instagram.com/desertrose_coffee) for Saturday, 8 to 10 AM. They accept cash, cards, and cashapp. We encourage you to support a local small business that will be onsite in the parking lot.

Coronation Largess Derby

“What is Largess?”- the dispensing of a gift upon others

In the SCA that means to provide royals with gifts that they can then pass on to their populace. It shows off the skills and generosity of the crafts people and artisans within our kingdom. If you would like to participate, please make 5 items that are the same. 4 of the items will go to the crown and 1 item will be put into a lot. The contributors will then draw numbers and each will be able to pick an item of their choice by the number they draw.

Please label each item with

  • Your SCA Name
  • Branch name or contact information
  • List of materials or ingredients
  • Description of when and where it might have been from.

We will have blank labels available at the event
