Hail Mighty Citadel! Her Excellency Elieth and I do send you joyous greetings and salutations!
We write to you today as Her Excellency has travelled to the faraway lands of Argonia to visit the mighty Chiefdoms of the lands of the rich coast, the lands of her ancestors. As we anxiously wait for her return to our Barony, we continue to prepare for the coming of Her Royal Majesty, Anna, Queen of our beloved Outlands. In honor of her esteemed visit, we have decided to hold a grand Hastilude and have called out to many champions of the Kingdom. Two mighty warriors have answered our call, His Grace Duke Walrick de Blakeney, and Sir Rowland de Grey of Lincolnshire. These two great and notable warriors are even now seeking fighters, swordsmen, archers and artisans to stand with them as they compete to be the champion of the Hastilude. We call upon you, our populace, to join us for this amazing event, which will take place in the mountains near Cloudcroft, NM, on August 24-26. It will truly be a spectacle of honor, volar and chivalry to behold!
The month of July saw members of the Citadel traveling to the northern part of the realm to attend Battlemoor IX, held in the lands of the Barony of Arquelle. It was a very enjoyable event with many classes, melees and tournaments. One of Citadel’s own, m’lord Vito, was even declared Master Brewer of the event, as he entered his brews and fermentations in the Battlemoor Brewer’s Contest. Additionally, Her Excellency Elieth was honored by Her Royal Majesty Ian’ka of Atenveldt with a Queen’s Grace for bringing happiness and joy to her with her music and her smile. We are very proud of her.
During Battlemoor the visiting Crown Prince of Aethelmearc, His Royal Highness Titus, passed onto the next world. We send our deepest condolences to their Kingdom, populace, and most importantly, his dear lady, Her Royal Highness Anna Leigh. She is a stalwart woman and we hold her in high regard. It was truly amazing to see the entire event stand up in support of her as she began her mourning. We are proud of our Kingdom.
Finally, we would like to remind our populace to check the Baronial Calendar for all of the events and activities that he hold locally. We invite you all to come out and join us on Sundays for Baronial Day out at Album Park. Also, don’t forget that the third Sunday of each month we usually hold Populace Gathering at Baronial Day. This month, will be the exception in that we will not hold Populace gathering in favor of Hastilude the following weekend. Also, keep an eye on the website for some upcoming demos, including the Military Ball for the 11th ADA Battalion on September 21st and Street Fest in mid-October.
