This year, the Citadel of the Southern Pass, will be holding the Southern Pass Renaissance Faire on March 28th, hosted by the Society for Creative Anachronism, and will be held at the Tobin Park United Methodist Church. The public portion of the event will run from 10:00am through 6:00pm. We will have a Baronial Court to open the event, and a closing Court to end the day, followed by a grand feast. Some of the activities of the day will include youth battles, fencing and armored competitions. The fencing competition will be a Constable Tournament and the armored combat will be a Banner Tournament. You’ll want to come and watch to support your favorite fighters to see who wins the right to carry the Banner of the Citadel! There will be displays of Arts and Science, Bardic, Medieval & Society classes and instruction. Some of the classes include belly dance, drumming, lucet weaving , and more! There will be numerous merchant booths, and fun activities for the whole family. Some of these merchants include jewelry makers, clothing, food and beverages, fortune tellers, and medieval metal forging.
This event will also bring sorrow and sadness, joy and happiness as we bid farewell to Their Excellencies Christopher and Jamila, and welcome our new Baron and Baroness, who will be invested by the King and Queen of the Outlands. We invite you all to join us for this solemn, yet joyous occasion! Please note that merchant, camping and feast space are all limited!
